Tri County Youth Hockey Initiation

Tri County Youth Hockey Initiation consists of several first time players who never had been on the ice along with second and third year players. Beginner players have learned how to skate in little time. In the beginning of September new players started out on the ice with the assistance of upside-down five gallon buckets to help hold them up (above). Many parents and coaches went home with sore backs the first few weeks. The photo below was taken in the middle of October, and shows skaters on their feet and handling themselves on the ice very well, according to team supporters. Team manager Liz M. Skakuj said everyone is proud of how quickly the new players are learning to skate along with several hockey drills. Submitted photo.
