A courageous ride

To celebrate Red Ribbon Week, Holley Elementary School focused on the theme "I have the courage to be a Drug-Free Me!" To kick off the week of activities, Nels Cremean performed his "High on Life" program, which emphasizes the courage it takes to make healthy choices that develop body, mind and character. Every morning, Secretary Karen Bower sang an original composition of "Follow the Drug-Free Road" over the announcements. Throughout the week, students also signed drug-free pledges, wore red and received treats, "Courage to Make a Stand" bracelets, bookmarks and red ribbons. Cremean showed plenty of courage when he boarded his unicycle with the help of Mitch Pritchard, parent, and Lynn Vendetti, teacher.
