Gary Johnson, an independent insurance agent with Churchville Agency, is helping to ensure the safety and efficiency of volunteer firefighters. His expertise is also reaping rewards for Utica National policyholders, as evidenced by recent dividends of $1.6 million earned by volunteer fire departments throughout New York state that participate in the company's safety group.

Johnson and other agents on a 15-member task force provided feedback and advice concerning appropriate insurance coverages, risk management training and loss control measures.

Utica-insured VFD safety group members use dividends to purchase additional lifesaving equipment and supplies or for training and education purposes. Dividends also help to contain the cost of insurance protection for member VFDs.
