Adams Basin School alumni gather

On Saturday, November 18, 25 alumni of the Adams Basin School/School No. 11 reunited for the first time at the Little Red Schoolhouse run by the Town of Ogden Parks and Recreation. The alumni attended the schoolhouse between the 1930s and the 1950s. The group shared memories of games at recess and buying milk and penny candy at Ginthers Store (currently the Adams Basin Post Office) and watching for the banana deliveries.

Leonard Elmes remembered when the school burned down in the 1930s. Dick Allis from Georgia talked about bicycle tag and then having to repair his bicycle. All the students had fond recollections of their teachers Miss Marion Flynn and Miss Norma DiLauro and others.

In attendance were Sally Ann Bater, Sheila Ladd, Renee Ottman, Mary Girew, Rita Ginther Florence Smith, Ann Wolff, Leonard Elmes, Kathy Luckin, Virginia Stockham, Barb Gosnell, Eunice Vandertang, Helen Leonard, Nancy Jones, Shirley Chastain, Don Grentzinger, Dick Allis, Robert Bechtold, Jerry Barton, Charles Vandertang, Dale Ladd, Mike Mahle, Glenn Goodridge and Louis Mehserle.
