New soccer and baseball programs offered in Hamlin

Hamlin Recreation will be joining the Southwest Intertown Soccer League in the Boys and Girls U12 and U15 Division next summer. They will be joining other towns such as Spencerport, Churchville, Chili, Gates, Sweden, Scottsville and others for recreation soccer. Referee certification classes will be held starting in January. Anyone interested can call 964-7222.

Baseball teams in the 9-10 and 11-12 Divisions will join a league with Sweden, Kendall and Holley to make up the Westside Baseball League. The season will run from mid-May through June. Anyone interested in umpiring can call 964-7222.

The Baseball Midget Division for ages 7-8 will remain in-house but will have scrimmage games against Kendall added to the schedule. These games will be played both in Hamlin and Kendall.
Girl's Softball for ages 9-12 will continue to play against Kendall, Holley and Sweden. The season will run from mid-May through June. The Tot Soccer, U-8 and U-10 Soccer Divisions, T-Ball and Pony baseball divisions will remain the same as last year. Coaches will be required to complete an application form and have a background check done. Experience is a must. Contact the Recreation office with questions.

Registration for all summer sports will begin December 18 and run through March 19, 2007. Registration information is available on the website at www.hamlinny.org. Follow the Recreation Department links. The winter brochure will be mailed out before Christmas and registration information will be enclosed.
