Scholarships available for Hamlin, Sweden students

SUNY College at Brockport is accepting applications for two scholarships for students residing in Sweden or Hamlin. The Margaret A. McGrath Charitable Foundation provides funding for the two awards. Applications for the 2007-2008 academic year will be accepted through March 1.

The McGrath Foundation provides two scholarships for SUNY Brockport students - The Marie Dollard McGrath Scholarship and the Philip and Margaret Dollard Scholarship. The Dollard McGrath Scholarship is for students majoring in elementary education at an accredited college or university to be used for tuition; the Dollard Scholarship is for students majoring in business at an accredited college or university and also is for tuition.

Applicants must be a resident of the Town of Sweden or Hamlin (at least two years) with a minimum "B" or numerical equivalent grade point average, and be enrolled or accepted to an accredited college or university with a major in elementary education or business. Students must demonstrate strong moral character, clear sense of purpose, maturity and leadership ability as evidenced by recommendations.
