Extension Board elects officers, invite input

Cornell Cooperative Extension of Genesee County's Board of Directors held an election of officers at their first meeting of the year on January 8. Andrew J. Wormuth of Elba was elected board president for the fourth consecutive year. Julia Garver of East Bethany and Shelley Stein of LeRoy were elected to the positions of vice-president and secretary, respectively. Leslie Groves-Marino will continue in her elected position as treasurer.

Wormuth will preside over a 15-member board that represents a geographic cross-section of Genesee County. Other members include: Eric Adams, Andrea Aldinger, Jane Balbick, Tom Corcoran, Brian Monckton, Donna Morrill, Michael Stoll, Peggy Waite and Kathy Winspear. Genesee County Legislator Annie Lawrence and Cornell University Cooperative Extension Representative Terry Gifford will also serve on the 2007 board.

The board of directors plan to spend significant time in the first quarter of 2007 developing the strategic plan for the organization. To facilitate the process and help gain more understanding of community needs, the board is looking for input from the community.
