GCC website ranks number two in national standing

The National Research Center for College and University Admissions ranked Genesee Community College's Admissions website number two among community college admissions websites across the nation. Brigham Young University, which operates a community college in Idaho, received the number one ranking.

NRCCUA rated admissions websites of 3,015 colleges and universities across the United States. The organization's "Enrollment Power Index" assesses each site on 34-different criteria, including prominence of the admissions office link, overall web page design, ease of navigation, content and online access to admissions materials and staff.

Genesee Community College's website (www.genesee.edu) provides information on virtually all of the college's programs and services. Genesee was one of the first community colleges in New York state to begin organizing web content by college constituency. The website contains easy-to-access modules for current students, future students, faculty and staff, visitors and alumni and business and community from the home page. Each module contains links to numerous digital files, photos and graphics, and contact information of special interest to each constituency.

The home page also contains "quick links" to popular sections of the website, including the admissions office; current college news; upcoming events; links to class schedules and application forms and a site-specific search engine powered by Google.
