Mardi Gras Monte Carlo Night proceeds would help trolley depot project along

As the photo shows, the Spencerport Trolley Depot is now settled on the southeast bank of the Erie Canal. It’s hoped that come the 2007 canal boat and bicycle traffic season, the depot will be ready to open as a visitor center as well as a destination site for area residents. To help reach those goals, a Mardi Gras Monte Carlo night is set for Saturday, February 17 from 7 to 11 p.m. at Ferris Goodridge American Legion Post, 691 Trimmer Road, Spencerport. Music, games of chance and beads in the Mardi Gras fashion will bring spirit to a winter’s night, organizers believe, and money raised will help assure that the facility will be ready to open this spring. Tickets are $25 and are available at The Unique Shop, Village Designs, Nothnagle Realtors, Spencerport Village offices and the Ogden Farmers’ Library. On February 1, feathered Mardi Gras masks will be available for purchase at The Unique Shop and Nothnagle Realtors. Photographs by Walter Horylev.
