Lakeside Memorial Hospital medical staff presents Excellence in Nursing awards

The Medical Staff of Lakeside Memorial Hospital presented the 2006 Excellence in Nursing Awards at its annual holiday dinner meeting to Kathleen Fink, RN Emergency Department and Michael Longfellow, RN in Lakeside's OR. The award is based on clinical judgment, compassion in patient care, commitment to Lakeside Memorial Hospital, commitment to high quality patient care and interpersonal relationships with peers, other staff and physicians.

Fink has been employed at Lakeside since 1996. She resides in Bergen. Longfellow lives in North Chili and has been with Lakeside since 2002. As a triage nurse in the Emergency Department, Fink is expert in emergency nursing. She performs thorough patient evaluations, ensures patient comfort and takes the time to explain the process to patients. She goes above and beyond the call of duty, taking the initiative to assist whenever or where ever needed," Dr. John P. Risolo, president of Lakeside Memorial Medical Staff said.

The recipients received a plaque and a monetary gift. Their names are also added to an Excellence in Nursing Award plaque listing recipients which is displayed in the hospital.
