Children learn about food safety with Chef Patti

It was Safe Cooking Week at the Schoolhouse of Brockport, 1375 Transit Way. The ‘Bugs and Critters’ were busy learning about safe shopping, cooking, serving and storage of foods during this life skill week. Chef Patti Battista, a certified personal chef, offered cooking tips and demonstrated food presentation. Following her visit, the children had to create a fancy snack of their own. They finished their week as little bakers, complete with chef hats, gloves and bread dough to practice what they had learned. The Schoolhouse’s program teaches two-, three- and four-year-olds about their world through a theme-based program. Submitted photo.
