Several area residents have been named to honor rolls for the fall semester at SUNY Oswego.

On the Oswego president's list are:

  • From Churchville, Curtis Allen of Euler Road, a senior accounting major.
  • From Spencerport, Jennifer M. Arva, a junior psychology major; Sara A. Catlin of Gillett Road, a senior linguistics major; and Stephanie L. Magin of Ridge Road West, a sophomore meteorology major.

On the dean's list are:

  • From Churchville, Daniel P. Ivancic of Scottsville Chili Road, a junior psychology major, and Heather N. Lucarelli of Royce Drive, a sophomore marketing major.
  • From Hilton, Brian A. Eichas of Peck Road, a senior technology education major; Donald J. Hebert of Hillside Drive, a freshman biology major; Erin C. Hyde of Albano Drive, a sophomore secondary education major; Scott R. Korn of Judd Lane, a freshman history major; Kathleen R. Larkin of Hillside Drive, a senior elementary education major; Chad R. McBroome of Lake Avenue, a senior technology education major; and Ellen S. Wilcox of Armand Drive, a sophomore mathematics major.

After a nationwide search, SUNY College at Brockport has named Teresa E. Donnelly-Major as director of student accounts. Donnelly-Major joined SUNY Brockport's Office of Finance and Management in January.

As the director of student accounts, Donnelly-Major facilitates the college's financial assistance to students and their families. She is responsible for billing, loan and scholarship payment processing and counseling students relating to their financial obligations.

Prior to joining SUNY Brockport, Donnelly-Major was the manager of student financial services at the University of San Diego (CA), overseeing student accounts, student loans, department and general account transactions. She has also served as bursar at The University of Nevada (Las Vegas), Keene State University (NH), Daytona College (FL) and New York Chiropractic College.

Donnelly-Major is a graduate of the University of Buffalo with a bachelor of arts in organizational communication. She resides in Brockport with her husband, Peter.


Vanessa R. Taylor, third year student at the College of the Holy Cross, has been named to the dean's list for the first semester of the 2006-07 academic year.

She is the daughter of Doug and Judy Taylor of Spencerport, and a 2004 graduate of Spencerport High School. Taylor is pursuing a double major in history and Medieval Renaissance studies.


Two Hamlin residents have been named to honor rolls for the fall semester at SUNY Oswego.

On the Oswego president's list is Elizabeth A. Daniels of Moscow Road, a senior zoology major.

On the dean's list is Kelly N. Schooping of Curtisdale Lane, a freshman marketing major.

The president's and dean's list represent the academic top 20 percent of the Oswego student body. Students who achieve grade averages of 3.80 and above on the 4.0 scale are named to the president's list, the top seven percent of Oswego students. To be included on the dean's list, students must have a semester grade average of 3.30 to 3.79.


Erin Duffy of Hilton has achieved dean's list with a GPA of 3.40 to 3.69 at SUNY College at Brockport for fall 2006. She is a 2006 graduate of Hilton High School and is the daughter of Denise and Edward Duffy.


Valerie Dimino of Hilton, has achieved the president's list with a GPA of 4.0 at SUNY College at Brockport for the fall 2006 semester. She is a 2004 graduate of Hilton High School and is the daughter of Frank and Linda Dimino. She has been inducted into the National College Honor Society, Alpha Chi and the International English Honor Society, Sigma Tau Delta.


Chelsea Nicole Cook of Churchville, a graduate of Churchville-Chili High School, was named to the fall 2006 dean's list at SUNY Cortland. Her parents are James and Tammy Cook.


Michael Wright of Hilton has achieved dean's list with a GPA of 3.40 to 3.69 at SUNY College at Brockport for fall 2006. He is a 2005 graduate of Hilton High School and is the son of Ann and David Wright.

He received PAETEC Communication's 2006 Scholarship Award. PAETEC scholarship program is to recognize and reward students of PAETEC employees who are pursuing a college education.


Robin Westcott of Brockport was named to the president's list at SUNY Canton for the fall 2006 semester.

To receive president's list honors, full-time students must earn a semester grade point average (GPA) of 3.75 or higher on a 4.0 scale.


Morrisville State College announced students who were named to the dean's list for the fall semester. To be named to the dean's list a student must achieve an average of 3.0 to 3.99 for the semester and complete 12 credit hours. Students from this area are: Erika M. Attoma of Hilton; Jennifer E. Habgood of Hamlin; and David M. Hull of Spencerport.


Patrick J. Adriance of Spencerport received the degree of master of science during the fall commencement held at St. John Fisher College. As part of his course of study, Adriance completed the requirements for certification in elementary and special education. He was also inducted into Kappa Delta Pi International Honor Society of Education.

Prior to graduating from St. John Fisher, he earned a bachelor of science degree in communications and creative writing from SUNY Brockport and was employed by Eagle Communications in Nebraska.


Clarkson University named the following presidential scholars and the dean's list students for the fall 2006 semester. Presidential scholars must achieve a minimum 3.25 GPA and carry at least 14 credit hours. Dean's list students must achieve a minimum 3.25 GPA and also carry at least 14 credit hours. Students from this area are: Eric M. DeWind, dean's list of Spencerport; Nicole L. Waldow, presidential scholar of Rochester; and Jessica L. Terrell, presidential scholar, of Spencerport.


Lindsay Maleski from Hamlin received a bachelor of science in criminal justice degree at Charleston Southern Univeristy's fall commencement exercises in December.


Rebekah Marcuccio, of Brockport, was named to the dean's list at Liberty University for the fall semester. Marcuccio was one of 2,319 students at Liberty who earned the recognition for the fall. Students named to the dean's list earn a grade point average of 3.5 or better on a 4.0 scale and carry an academic load of at least 12 credit hours.


Marina Lynn Mellas of Hamlin has been named to the fall semester dean's list at Radford University.

Mellas, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Mellas of Drake Road, is a senior dance major.

To be named to the dean's list, a student must have taken 15 or more credit hours and have a grade point average of 3.4 or above with no grade below a C.


Katherine E. List, daughter of Mark and Debi List of Bergen, has been named to the fall 2006 dean's list at St. John Fisher College in Rochester. List, a junior, is a communications major.

To be eligible for the dean's list at St. John Fisher College, a student must have attained at least a 3.5 grade-point average for the semester.


Adam Hendel of Brockport has achieved dean's list with honors with a GPA of 3.70-3.99 at SUNY College at Brockport for fall 2006. He is a 2000 graduate of Northstar Christian Academy and is the son of Richard and Rebecca Hendel. He is a member of Phi Alpha Theta Society.


Shannon Strollo has been named to the dean's list at the University of Cincinnati, College-Conservatory of Music where she is a freshman BFA major in the dance department. She was a featured performer with the CCM dance ensemble as a principal dancer in Some Seasons, a contemporary ballet, and as a soloist in Pink is the New Red, a modern contemporary piece. She also performed as a member of the corps de ballet in Konservatoriet, classical repertoire of the Royal Danish Ballet. She is a 2006 graduate of Aquinas Institute and is the daughter of Tom and Donna Strollo of Ogden.


Army Pvt. Christopher J. Meyer graduated from basic combat training at Fort Jackson, Columbia, South Carolina. Meyer is the son of Robert Meyer of Holley and Linda Meyer of Brockport.
