Leopards beat Eagles in basketball

Kendall held the early lead and trailed by just two after one quarter, but managed only eight points on offense over the next two quarters and fell to three-time Section Five defending division champion Greece Olympia 49-24 in girl's basketball.

Field goals by senior Robin D'Agostino and junior Jen Cole and a free throw from Megan Fahy gave the Eagles a 5-2 lead, but Olympia's defense forced numerous turnovers through the third quarter as the Leopards built a 38-16 lead.

"We'll have a couple of good quarters most games, but then sometimes we forget how to play," said Kendall head coach Rick Baldwin. "We're losing just one senior, so hopefully we use these experiences to build for next year."

Cole led the Eagles with nine points including a three-pointer in the fourth quarter along with five rebounds. Fahy, also a junior, had seven points with a team high six rebounds and Sarah Bianchi chipped in five points including a baseline jumper to open the fourth quarter.

Amber Leonard led all scorers with 16 points for the Leopards. Kendall fell to 2-11 on the season. They host Holley for Senior Night Tuesday.
