Brockport capital project vote planned

On Tuesday, February 13, voters in the Brockport Central School District will be asked to make a decision on a proposed $5.7 million capital project.

The project would be funded under the state's EXCEL program and would address building maintenance issues and would replace a heating plant in one of the buildings.

"EXCEL provides us with an opportunity to complete planned work and make educational improvements with minimal cost to local taxpayers," said Interim School Business Official Darrin Winkley. "The expected cost per taxpayer is less than five cents a year on a $100,000 home."

Included in the project, if it gains voter approval would address roof issues, replace flooring, installation of energy efficient lighting. There are projects slated for all of the district's buildings.

Voting will take place from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m. at the Barclay School and the high school and 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Oliver Middle School.
