Holley sixth graders tour history

A series of field trips by Holley sixth grade classes had students traveling through time. Each class began their trip at the Challenger Learning Center, a state of the art math, science and technology education facility at the Rochester Museum and Science Center. Through a simulated mission to Mars, students experienced the excitement of space exploration, while using their science and math skills in an authentic, technology-based setting. Students chose one of nine different teams to specialize in, based on their own interests. After lunch, students toured ancient Egyptian art exhibits at the Memorial Art Gallery. Classes were also exposed to Medieval and Renaissance art, which is a future social studies topic.
