Local boys gymnastics team wins invitational

Bright Raven Gymnastics boys teams traveled to Syracuse, February 4 to compete in the Salt City Invitational where they earned many individual honors and the second place Level 4 team award. In the Level 4 competition for ages 6 through 7, Alex Reber of Brockport captured first place all around scoring 52.10. He was also awarded first place in five events: floor exercise (8.60), pommel horse (8.20), rings (9.20), parallel bars (8.40) and high bar (8.40).

John Henderson of Greece competed in the 10 through 11 age division and took first all around scoring 50.50. In the individual events, Henderson was also first on floor (8.50), pommel horse (8.20), rings (8.10), vault (9.30) and high bar (8.40).

In the 8 to 9 age division, Seth Daniels of Churchville placed second all around with a 53.20 and won first place on high bar (9.20), second place on vault (9.60) and third on parallel bars (8.80). Robbie Cavuoto of Greece and John Fichter of Gates also contributed to the Level 4 team effort.

Nate Daniels of Churchville competed in the Level 6 competition for ages 12 and over taking first all around with a score of 50.20. In the individual events, Daniels was first on rings (8.90), vault (9.50), parallel bars (7.70) and high bar (8.70). He was second on floor (7.40) and pommel horse (8.0).

Nick Klimeck-Jones of Chili competed in the Level 5 competition for ages 10-11 and took first place on floor (8.90), second place on high bar (8.60) and third place on rings (7.90).

Both Daniels and Klimeck-Jones qualified to compete in the USAG Boys New York State Championships to be held at West Point March 24-25 at their respective levels.
