Former Hilton basketball player
scores 1,000th collegiate point

Marisa Clark (Hilton '04), who led Hilton to its first ever Section V Girls Basketball Title in 2003, now in her junior year at Medaille College in Buffalo, scored her 1000th point as the starting point guard for the 22nd ranked Medaille Mavericks Women's Basketball Team, February 17 at Hilbert College in a 70-41 win. She becomes the fourth player in school history to eclipse the 1000-point mark and is fast approaching the 500 assists mark (474). She surpassed 300 steals (school record) earlier this season.

Clarks was the only player in Division III Women's Basketball (408 teams in '06-'07) to be nationally ranked in the top 20 in both assists per game and steals per game the past two seasons, and she has accomplished it again this year. She is currently ranked 8th in assists per game and 12th in steals per game heading into postseason play.

The Mav's are currently 21-4, 17-1 and have clinched the Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Title for the second straight year.

Clark, Amanda Baker (Newark) and their teammates, have brought the program to national prominence in the last three years by going a combined 67-13 under coach Pete Lonergan. The Mav's have been nationally ranked as high as 21st this year and are currently ranked 22nd on D3hoops.com, recognized as the leading authority in Division III sports.
