BCSD parents and community
invited to "Rachel's Challenge"

Brockport High School and Middle School students will see the powerful one-hour "Rachel's Challenge" presentation by Nichole Nolan, one of Rachel's friends who survived the carnage in the library the day of the Columbine tragedy. Parents and community members are invited to attend an evening presentation on Wednesday, March 14 at 7 p.m. in the Brockport High School Auditorium. The 45-minute interactive session shows how to sustain the momentum created by the student assembly.

The national campaign is designed to help school administrators, parents and students create safer and more productive places to learn and achieve. The goal is to motivate and equip students to embrace new values of kindness and compassion so that no child is left behind because of fear and violence in their school.

The daytime assemblies and evening presentation are sponsored by the Brockport Central School District, PTSA, Brockport Kiwanis Club and BHS Student Council. To read Rachel's essay and to learn more about Rachel's Challenge visit http://brockport.K12.ny.us.
