Clothing and food drive soon underway

On Saturday, March 24, the local boy scouts and girl scouts will be going out into the community to distribute bags for this year's Scouting For Food and Clothing drive. Two plastic bags, one for food and one for clothing, will be attached to door handles.

This is the 19th year that this "Good Turn for America Community Service Project" has taken place. Last year, throughout Monroe County, this program collected enough food to stock 81 local food cupboards for four months.

On the following Saturday, March 31, the boy and girl scouts will collect the bags of food and clothing starting at 10 a.m. Bags of food can be dropped off at Wendy's Restaurants. The clothing can be dropped off at Goodwill Stores.
