Tickets available for Community Arts Awards Gala in April

The seventh annual Community Arts Awards Gala will be held at Genesee Community College on April 21 at 6 p.m. The Genesee-Orleans Regional Arts Council instituted the annual event in 2001 as a way to recognize individuals and cultural organizations that have made significant contributions to the arts in our community.

The honorees include Gordon English and Deborah Wilson as well as the Batavia Players, Inc., Genesee County Mental Health Association and the Art Club, Oak Orchard Lighthouse Museum Committee, and the Rotary Club of Batavia. National Grid will receive the GO ART! Board of Directors award.

The theme for this year's event is "Furhlingsfest," a traditional German festival that celebrates the arrival of spring. Guests will enjoy "Abenbrot," a light German meal, and the sounds of the Genesee Valley Band. Judge Robert Noonan and Dr. Victor DeSa will provide comedic entertainment. A silent auction runs throughout the evening.

Tickets to the Community Arts Award Gala are available at GO ART! Cultural Center, 201 East Main Street, Batavia. For additional information, or to purchase tickets by credit card, call 585-343-9313.
