Author seeks historic photographs

Local author, Sarah Brinklow, is looking for old photographs that might be used in "Images of America: Around Kendall, Morton and Troutburg," a pictorial history to be published by Arcadia Publishing. The importance of family collections cannot be overemphasized, Brinklow said. "A little history is lost every minute. It cannot protect itself." Vintage photographs can be scanned and preserved, and once reproduced in a book, they become available for all to see.

"Sometimes just finding the pictures is an adventure," she said. "Families discover them in forgotten attic recesses, battered old trunks, high closet shelves, low pantry drawers and even cold root cellars. Many of these treasures haven't seen the light of day for decades."

Anyone who has photographs to be considered for the book can contact Brinklow at sbrinklow@frontiernet.net or 585-451-6347.
