The Holley Board of Education recognized the transportation staff with a Soaring to New Heights Award at its March 19 meeting for their quick reaction time in dealing with a fire at the bus garage in February. Transportation Director Fran Gaylord was at the garage and, with the help of his staff and local fire companies, quickly extinguished a fire caused by water leaking through the roof onto the water heater in the break room. Damage was minimal and the transportation schedule was not impacted. Soaring to New Heights Awards recognize students, staff and community members who go above and beyond expectations.
