SkillsUSA students place at statewide competition

SkillsUSA students at BOCES 2 Career and Technical Education Center placed at the statewide SkillsUSA competition at Alfred. SkillsUSA is an international organization that promotes leadership and professional development, competitions at the state, national and international level and encourages students to participate and organize community service projects.

Career and Technical Education students competed at the statewide level in more than 30 courses of study including: Television Production, Culinary Arts, Job Interview skills, Opening and Closing Ceremonies and Precision Heavy Equipment. BOCES 2 Career and Tech students received first, second and third place in their fields of study.

First place winners are: Action Skills, Ashley Vershay; Auto Service, Mike Knorr; Cosmetology Junior, Teddy Kaminski; Electronics Technology, Grace DiDomenico; Food & Beverage, Kelly Kessler; Job Interview, Paige Dadson; Opening & Closing ceremony: Kelsey Luther, Crystal Washington, Kate Geil, Katelynn Sawyer, Courtney Forquell, Danielle Brooks, Sabrina Scheck, and Danielle Stocum; Quiz Bowl, Lisa Finocchio, Jena Antos, Nate Ames, Matthew Heidt and Samantha Miller.
