Spencerport Crop Walk planned

Spencerport residents will be gearing up to join in the Spencerport Area Crop Walk on Sunday, May 6 at 1 p.m. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. The walk will start at the Methodist Church on Amity Street, go along the canal path to the bridge in Adams Basin and return.

Organized and sponsored locally by the Spencerport Ecumenical Ministry, the Spencerport Area Crop Walk has set a goal of 90 walkers and hopes to raise $5,000 to help stop hunger in our community, nationally and around the world. Twenty-five percent of the funds raised in the Spencerport area will go to the local food shelf.

Last year 80 walkers raised more than $4,950 in the Spencerport Area Crop Walk. Five walkers in this group raised more than 35 percent of the total.
