The IACC Tenth Annual Women of the Year Awards

The Italian American Community Center (IACC) will hold its Tenth Annual Women of the Year Awards to recognize the accomplishments of Rochester area women of Italian descent. These women represent a cross section of the community, with accomplishments in the arts, business, education, civic affairs/government, science, and the leadership and volunteerism at the IACC.

This year's event is Thursday, April 26, in the IACC Grand Ballroom. Festivities begin with a cash bar at 6 p.m. and dinner served at 7 p.m. Tickets are $25 per person.

This year's Fine Arts Award goes to Deborah DePasquale, a local artist and owner of Attenzione Graphics for the past ten years.

The Business Award will be presented to Ann Colaruotolo. She is president of Casa Larga Vineyards and runs other local businesses.

The Education Award is awarded to Dr. Camille Anne Martina. She is a research assistant professor at the University of Rochester.

The Medicine Award will be presented to Laurie Ann Kopin for her work in the nursing field.

The La Simpatica Award is awarded to Angelina Girolamo for her volunteerism and dedication to the Italian American Community Center.

The Maria N. Ciardi Young Women of the Year Scholarship Award is going to Heather D'Errico for her academic achievements and her role in assisting the community.

The Leonardo da Vinci Scholar Award is awarded to Christine Perrotti for showing great pride in achieving high academic honors.
