Nadine Beres, daughter of John and Georgeann Beres of Hamlin, has been named to the 2006 fall dean's list with honors at Mercyhurst College, Erie, Pennsylvania. She is a 2006 graduate of Kendall High School and is majoring in elementary and special education with a minor in art therapy.


Christopher Beres, son of John and Georgeann Beres of Hamlin, has been named to the 2006 fall dean's list at the University of Buffalo.

Christopher is a 2004 graduate of Kendall High School and is majoring in environmental and civil engineering.


The National Society of High School Scholars (NSHSS) announced that Hilton Central High School student Lindsay E. Pundt from Hilton has been selected for membership. The society recognizes the top scholars in the nation and invites only those students who have achieved superior academic excellence. The announcement was made by NSHSS Founder and Chairman Claes Nobel, a senior member of the Swedish Nobel family. Lindsay is the daughter of Scott and Lisa Pundt.


SUNY College at Brockport and the Office of Special Sessions and Programs honored Jimmie Eddington of Rochester; Margaret Roney, of Spencerport; and David Usinski of Depew, who are recipients of the Rochester Area Colleges Continuing Education (RACCE) Consortium's Outstanding Adult Student Award.

To be considered for the award, students must meet specific academic requirements, be 25 years of age or older, and have successfully combined full-time college study with other responsibilities of family, job/career and community service. The Outstanding Adult Student Award acknowledges the academic accomplishments of these distinguished students, as well as their ability to combine and excel as members of their communities and important participants in the life of their families. It goes without question that Eddington, Roney and Usinski have been found to be among the brightest and most successful students at SUNY Brockport and throughout the Greater Rochester area, according to college officials.


Air Force Airman 1st Class James A. Davis arrived for duty at Malmstrom Air Force Base, Great Falls, Montana. The airman is a security forces member assigned to the 341st Missile Security Forces Squadron. Davis has served in the military for one year. He is the son of Stuart and Laura Davis of Hilton. Davis is a 2001 graduate of Hilton Central High School.
