Chamber's awards dinner honor locals

The Gates-Chili Chamber of Commerce will hold its annual community awards dinner at the Brook-Lea Country Club on Tuesday, May 22 with registration starting at 5:30 p.m. The dinner will honor individuals and organizations that have made a significant impact on the quality of life in the Gates and Chili community from civic beautification to outstanding citizen.

Among this year's award winners are the Gates Chili Color Guard for their Culture and Arts Award and Regis Mooney, the Chamber's 2006 Outstanding Citizen.

Tickets are $30 for members and $35 for non-members. Dinner reservations are required and must be made before May 15.

Award winners this year are: Town of Chili Beautification Award, Dr. Joseph F. Karpinski, DDS; Town of Gates Beautification Award, Drs. Emery & Scuro, DMD; Joseph Entress Memorial Award, Benderson Development Co., Inc; Innovative Business Award, Home Trends Catalog; Culture and Arts Award, Gates Chili Color Guard; Outstanding Citizen of the Year, Regis Mooney and Special Recognition Award, George Ewing Jr. Business of the Month Winners: (New, Inaugural Award) are from Gates, Calabresella Imports, Inc. and from Chili, Higbie Farm Supplies, Inc.
