BISCO and Lakeside planning for annual Duck Derby

The Brockport Integrated Service and Community Organization (BISCO) and Lakeside Health System are teaming together for the annual Duck Derby to be held during the Brockport Summer Arts Festival, August 11 and 12. The Duck Derby will be on Sunday, August 12 at 4 p.m. at the Main Street Canal Bridge. Proceeds will be used to benefit Brockport community projects.

Major underwriters for the Derby are Brockport Federal Credit Union, Brockport Rotary Club, Edward Jones Investments (Becky Gillette), Fowler Funeral Home, JP Morgan Chase, NurseFinders, President's Village, Spurr Dealerships, State Farm Insurance (Kelly Lewis), SUNY Brockport, Wal-Mart and Wegmans. "We are grateful to the many businesses who are dedicated to serving their community. Their generous outpouring of support of this event will help raise money to benefit local services," Gary Zimmer, chairman of the Duck Derby Committee said.

Last year's proceeds were dedicated to Lakeside Beikirch Care Center to support the purchase of a new 24-passenger bus to transport care center residents to and from medical appointments and a variety of field trips; Cool Kids activities, Brockport Toy Shelf, Walk, Bike Action Group and Max's Mardi Gras Parade.

Tickets for the Duck Derby will be available at Lakeside Foundation or through any service club member. Call 395-6049 for tickets or information.
