Hawks fall to Northstar

Northstar Christian Academy scored seven runs in the third inning and added seven more in the fifth on their way to a 17-4 softball victory at Holley.

The Knights scored five of their first seven runs with a pair of triples in the third inning before the Hawks countered with three runs in their half of the inning.

Stacey Swabb laced a two-out single and went on second on a wild pitch. Third baseman Jen Hettel then drew a walk before Allyssa Davis drove both home with a triple to right center. Center fielder Amber Rodas then plated Davis with a pop single to right, just over the head of the first baseman.

Holley scored their only other run of the game in the sixth. Jen Lasch reached second on an error and moved to third on a fielder's choice. After a walk to Mel MacDonald, Lasch scored from third as MacDonald was caught trying to steal second.
