Clarkson Republicans select candidates

The Clarkson Republican Committee has endorsed its slate of candidates for the November election. They are: Paul Kimball, supervisor; Christa L. Filipowicz, town council; Jackie Smith, town council and Sharon S. Mattison, town clerk.

Incumbent Kimball will be seeking his 13th two-year term as supervisor and Filipowicz will be seeking her third four-year term on the town board. Harlan Purdy will be retiring from the town board in December, and Smith, currently serving on the Sweden Clarkson Recreation & Parks Committee, will be seeking her first elected office. Also retiring in December is long-time town clerk, Fran Wilcox. Mattison, currently Clarkson's court clerk, has been endorsed by the committee for the town clerk position.
