Cobblestone Society to
explore wind energy and history topics

The Cobblestone Society Museum in Gaines will sponsor a public awareness program about wind turbines Wednesday, May 30 at 7 p.m. in the Pullman Memorial Universalist Church, 10 East Park Street, Albion.

Present at that time will be Daniel Mackay, director of Public Policy at the Preservation League of New York state. His topic will be "Impossible Dream: Politics and Process of Wind Energy Siting." His power point presentation will deal with the ramifications of wind turbines, their effect on historic sites and how they relate to tourism. He will also relate the current changing politics in Albany on wind energy issues.

Members of the Cobblestone Society Board of Directors say they hope other historical agencies and people involved in other historic sites throughout the region will make an effort to attend this important program to better understand wind energy's impact on the future landscape.
