Students give peace a chance

Holley Elementary's Safe School Ambassadors sponsored Peace Week in May encouraging students to make a difference by bringing peace to their school community. Students celebrated in a different way each day. The first day, students received tie-dyed pencils with the message "Erase hate. Draw out good behavior in others." The next day, students received peace lollipops. The theme song for the week was "With My Own Two Hands" from the movie "Curious George." This song inspired students to make their world a better place with their own two hands. Safe School Ambassadors also created signs to encourage students to act peacefully and kindly toward others. Here, front l-r, Angela Pinson, Eva Beadle and Courtney Winkley; along with (back) Travis Finger, Tesla Hanat, Natalie Mrzywka, Melissa Gates and Justin Parker show off their peace lollipops.
