Hilton Lions go to school

Ken Robertson; Dave McCracken; Jack Trembley; Jim Schiebel, chairman of the Board of Directors for the Empire State Speech and Hearing Clinic; Jack Fiero; Joe Lee, incoming Hilton Lions Club president; Jean Sciacchitano and Alex Pirnie (shown l to r) spent a Saturday at the Empire State Speech and Hearing Clinic located near Ithaca, the Lions' Camp Badger. Lions Camp Badger is a state approved, residential, six week summer school for special education students. The facility holds its classes in a summer camp setting to help make learning more enjoyable. The Hilton Lions Club has adopted a cabin on the 400 acre facility and annually provides the needed repairs. This year, volunteers straightened the four wooden posts the building sits on, put new railing on the entrance ramp and covered the ramp floor, squared the entrance and fire exit stairs, replaced screen and painted the porch. Anyone who would like to help the Lions send children to camp, can mail a check in any amount to the Hilton Lions Club, PO Box 906, Hilton, NY. Call Jim Schiebel, chairman of the Board of Directors at 964-3619, with questions about the camp.
