Nominees sought for volunteer recognition

Many people volunteer time and effort to improve the quality of life in Greece - and yet go unrecognzied, but in the last four years, 103 volunteers have been recognized.

Greece Community Partners has planned a recognition ceremony and reception to honor volunteers on Saturday, August 25 at 2 p.m. in association with the Town of Greece in the town hall

Organizations, friends, neighbors and relatives can sponsor volunteers they feel are worthy of such recognition.

There will be food and drink stations, a light musical background, floral decorations and recognition of each honoree. The presenters will be John Auberger, supervisor, Town of Greece, NYS Senator Joe Robach, Jennifer Johnson, News 10NBC anchor person and Elizabeth Harness, WROC TV.

Individuals nominated do not have to be Greece residents, but must have made significant contributions to the Greece community. There is an application fee of $10 per honoree to cover the cost of individual plaques. Most of the gifts, plus food, drinks, floral decorations will be donated.
