Good Sports Award goes to Holley for the fourth time

Holley High School Athletics was awarded the New York Good Sports School Award for the 2006-2007 school year. This is the fourth time in five years that Holley has received the award. High School Principal Terry McCarthy and Athletic Director John Grillo will accept the award on behalf of the school district at a meeting of the Chapter 5 New York State Athletic Administrators in the fall.

The award is sponsored by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association to honor school districts that take a comprehensive approach to sportsmanship in their interscholastic sports programs. Districts must submit an evaluation to explain the various policies and procedures in place to promote sportsmanship for players, coaches and parents. A committee of athletic directors from across the state reviews the applications and selects its top choices for each league. Holley is the recipient for the Genesee Region League.
