New administrators hired at BCSD

The Brockport Central School District Board of Education announced the appointments of two assistant superintendents. Middle School Principal Rob Banzer was named assistant superintendent for instruction, succeeding Dr. Robert Conrad who is retiring and Melissa Fingar, Esq. succeeds acting assistant superintendent for human resources Allan Berry. Both will begin their new roles July 1.

Banzer began his Brockport career at the High School 13 years ago as a social studies teacher, after four years of teaching in Maryland. In 2002 he became assistant principal at BHS before making the move to Middle School Principal in 2004. Banzer completed his administrative certification with graduate work at the Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. He holds a master of arts degree from the State University of New York at Albany and a bachelor of arts degree from Hamilton College. He resides in Brockport with his wife, Beth, and two daughters.

Fingar is a practicing attorney with Harris Beach PLLC. She has knowledge and background in the areas of labor and employment, employee benefits and education law. She has worked with district staff for several years. Prior to her eight years at Harris Beach, she worked for other law firms.

Fingar, a Greece resident, holds her juris doctorate from University of Buffalo, a masters of industrial and labor relations from Cornell University and a bachelor of science degree in corporate communications with a minor in personnel and industrial relations from Ithaca College.
