"Seal the Clown" Day goes on

For many years, "Seal the Clown" with the help of Spencerport firefighters and Grease Paint Alley Clowns, organized a Carnival Day for children with special needs from surrounding BOCES schools.

Each year, the children would be bused to the Spencerport firemen's field grounds on Route 259 in Spencerport. They would ride the kiddy rides, be treated to lunch by the Spencerport firemen and then Seal would have each child take home a stuffed animal he had collected during the year. Seal (Floyd Seeley) died in April 2007 but the event went on in his memory.

The Spencerport firefighters wore shirts with the logo "In Memory of Seal" and provided all the children with a wonderful lunch as usual.

Grease Paint Alley Clowns, in memory of "Seal," collected stuffed animals for the children and took over Seal's duties.

Everyone had a great day and Grease Paint Alley Clowns, along with the firefighters, will be doing the "Seal Day Event" every year from now on.

We love and miss you, Seal
The children, clowns, and firefighters
