New principal takes the helm
at Fairbanks Road Elementary

The Churchville-Chili Board of Education approved the appointment of Todd S. Yunker to the position of principal for Fairbanks Road Elementary School, effective July 23. The appointment was made at the board's meeting on June 20.

Yunker comes to the Churchville-Chili family from the Spencerport Central School District, where he has spent the past five years as principal of William C. Munn Elementary School, and two years prior to that as assistant principal at both Munn and Leo Bernabi Elementary Schools. Yunker brings more than 10 years of elementary level teaching experience, much of which took place at Churchville and Fairbanks Road Elementary Schools, according to CCCSD representatives.

The selection process for this position began with a screening interview of each candidate by Central Office administrators. Candidates were then interviewed by a committee consisting of parents, teachers, district support staff, an elementary school principal, the assistant superintendent for instruction, and a Board of Education member. Interim Superintendent Phillip W. Langton then interviewed the committee's two finalists, and offered Principal Yunker the position.
