Cornell Cooperative Extension's gala raises $10,000

The Cornell Cooperative Extension's Friends of Extension Gala brought together program participants and volunteers who support Extension's broad educational reach within the community. Farmers, horticulture businesses, 4-H volunteers, Master Gardeners, consumers and community partners contributed auction items for an event that featured food, New York state wine, and a silent and a live auction.

The "Rochester Herb Garden" quilt, created by the American Home Sewing Guild, was raffled to raise funds for Extension.

The $10,000 raised from the gala goes to support Cornell Cooperative Extension's education programs in agriculture, horticulture, nutrition and 4-H youth development. Reductions in funding from Monroe County have increased the importance of fund development and private giving, according to program staff.
