Ryan M. Maier, Spencerport, has achieved the dean's list with honors with a GPA of 3.70-3.99 at SUNY College at Brockport for spring 2007. He is a 2005 graduate of E. J. Wilson High School, Spencerport, and is the son of Tammy and Rick Maier.


Sarah Butlin, Hamlin, has achieved dean's list with a GPA of 3.40-3.69 at SUNY College at Brockport for the spring 2007 semester. She is a 2000 graduate of Hilton High School and the daughter of Pat and Tom Butlin.


Adam Hendel, Brockport, has achieved dean's list with a GPA of 3.40-3.69 at SUNY College at Brockport for spring 2007. He is a 2000 graduate of Northstar Christian Academy. He is the son of Richard and Rebecca Hendel.


Natalia Lysenko of Hamlin has achieved the president's list with a GPA of 4.0 at SUNY College at Brockport for the spring of 2007. She is a 1998 graduate from a High School in Ukraine and is the daughter of Zenoviga Salamakha and Victor Lysenko.


Meredith Keymel, daughter of John and Karen Keymel of Greece, is a May graduate of SUNY Cortland. She graduated summa cum laude, is a member of Phi Kappa Phi and received the Outstanding Graduating Senior Award from the Communications Department. Keymel plans to move to London to work.


Andrew Montanaro of Rochester has been named to the dean's list for the spring quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. He graduated with high honors on May 25 with a bachelor of science degree in biology. He is the son of Nick and Romea Montanaro.


Christopher Montanaro, Rochester, has been named to the dean's list for the spring quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A first-year student in RIT's College of Science, he is in the Physician Assistant Program. He is the son of Nick and Romea Montanaro.


Daniel J. Dixon, son of Kevin and Susan Dixon of Spencerport, has been named to the spring 2007 dean's list at St. John Fisher College in Rochester. Dixon, a freshman, is a corporate finance and accounting major.

To be eligible for the dean's list at St. John Fisher College, a student must have attained at least a 3.5 grade-point average for the semester.


Melissa A. Knitter of Hoboken, New Jersey, graduated from Seton Hall University School of Law on May 25 with a law degree. She participated in the Pro Bono Service Program for the Center of Social Justice.

She will be starting her clerkship with the Honorable Mark A. Baber of the Superior Court of New Jersey in September.

Knitter is a 1999 graduate of Hilton High School and a 2003 graduate of the University of Rochester. She is the daughter of Carol Knitter of Conway, South Carolina and the late Anthony Knitter, formerly of Hilton.


Nazareth College named Jennifer Katz of Spencerport to the dean's list for the spring 2007 semester. Katz is the daughter of Louis and Joanne Katz. She is involved in Naz's Cross Country and Track teams and has been the captain of the Cross Country team for the past two years.

A student's grade point average must be at least 3.5 or above, and they must complete at least 12 credit hours of graded work that semester in order to be included on the dean's list at Nazareth.


Karol Sue Byers, a Brockport resident, has completed the Foundation for Quality Care's Nurse Educator Course, a leadership program for nurses in senior management roles who aspire to become or remain leaders in the long-term care profession.

Byers is nurse educator at Unity Health System/Park Ridge Living Center in Rochester.


Melissa Voldan of Hilton was named to the dean's list for academic achievement for the fall 2006 semester from Harpur College of Arts and Sciences at Binghamton University, State University of New York.


Several area residents have been named to honor rolls for the spring semester at SUNY Oswego.

On the Oswego president's list are:

Churchville - Curtis Allen, a senior business administration major.

Hamlin - Elizabeth A. Daniels, a senior zoology major.

Hilton - Donald J. Hebert, a sophomore secondary education major, and Ellen S. Wilcox, a sophomore mathematics major.

On the dean's list are:

Churchville - Daniel P. Ivancic, a junior psychology major, and Kirstie M. Linza, a sophomore wellness management major.

Hilton - Erin C. Hyde, a sophomore secondary education major; Scott R. Korn, a sophomore history major; and Ronald S. Slater, a senior secondary education major.

Spencerport - Stephanie L. Magin, a sophomore meteorology major; Andrew M. Morgan, a sophomore secondary education major; and Julie L. Smith, a sophomore secondary education major.

The president's and dean's lists represent the academic top 20 percent of the Oswego student body. Students who achieve grade averages of 3.80 and above on the 4.0 scale are named to the president's list, the top 6.7 percent of Oswego students. To be included on the dean's list, the students must have a semester grade average of 3.30 to 3.79.


Area students were named to the dean's list at SUNY Geneseo for the 2007 spring semester. To qualify, students had to carry at least 12 credit hours, maintain a 3.4 grade-point average (GPA) out of 4.0 and have no "D," "E" or incomplete grades.

They are: Jonathon Baker, Craig Brinkman, Timothy Calnon, Jason Dorofy, Shannon Harwood, Diana Hemm, Christine Klotzbach, Rachel Laber, Heidi Mance, Desiree Marciano, Matthew MacGilvray, Maureen Peer, Kimberly Root and Matthew Ruff, all of Spencerport.


Niagara University held its 150th annual commencement ceremonies on Saturday and Sunday, May 19 and 20, conferring a total of 1,273 graduate and undergraduate degrees.

Nicole Dunshie was named to the spring 2007 dean's list at State University of New York College at Cortland. The elementary education major is the daughter of Mark and Trish Dunshie of Ogden and a 2006 graduate of Spencerport High School.


William Cuthbert, a 2004 graduate from Churchville-Chili High School, is interning in the field of Electrical Engineering in Bangkok, Thailand through International Association for the Exchange of Students for Technical Experience (IAESTE). IAESTE is an international technical exchange organization with offices in more than 80 countries, providing college students in technical fields with paid internships abroad.

His two-month internship involves doing research on operational transconductance amplifiers and current conveyors, as well as working as a teaching assistant in electronics laboratories at King Mongkut's Institute of Technology in North Bangkok, where he is residing.

Cuthbert will be a senior electrical engineering major at the University of Buffalo in the fall. He is the son of Jim and Cindy Cuthbert of Chili.


Prudential Discover Real Estate's Top Listing Agent for May was Bridget Massaro. She has been a real estate agent for many years and is also a Residential Appraisers Assistant.


Lisa Eisenhauer was the Top Sales Agent at Prudential Discover Real Estate for May 2007. She is a multi-million dollar producer and also volunteers for the Gates Ambulance.


Army Maj. Richard A. Wiest is returning to the U.S. after a deployment to Southwest Asia in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.

Wiest is an advisor with 18 years of military service. He is the son of Richard A. and Joyce C. Wiest of Hilton. His wife, Cheryl, is the daughter of Carlton and Joan Fessler of Rochester. The major graduated in 1981 from Hilton High School and received a bachelor's degree in 1985 from St. John Fisher College, Rochester. He earned a master's degree in 1992 from the State University of New York, Brockport.
