Celebrate a Victorian tea party

The Victorian era was a complex period of history with opulence, poverty and social reforms, but the Victorians enjoyed being entertained, and loved to give parties and afternoon teas. The Bergen Museum, with the Bergen Historical Society, is celebrating this unique part of history with a Victorian Tea Party from 2 to 4 p.m. on Sunday, July 15 at the Harford Barn and Livery Stable on Rochester Street in Bergen.

There will be pastries, music, Victorian history, arts and crafts, and special teas. Visitors are invited to bring their favorite hat and teacup.

A prize will be given for the most popular hat, other prizes will also be given away. Seating is limited. Call for a reservation 494-1121, 494-1456, e-mail vdenton@rochester.rr.com

The "Pioneer Life of Bergen" exhibit will be open during the party. Admission is free, donations accepted.
