First Hilton Apple Festival auto show scholarship awarded

Brittany Szczech of Rochester received a $250 scholarship from the Hilton Apple Festival Auto Show Committee. The scholarship was created to help Monroe County high school students who will be furthering their education in the automotive field.

Szczech is a June graduate of Spencerport High School and has begun training at Wyotech in Blairsville, Pennsylvania. She is enrolled in the Street Rod & Custom Fabrication with Collision/Refinishing program. She spent two years in the auto collision repair program at WE-MO-CO Career and Technical Center in Spencerport and hopes to open her own collision/refinishing shop.

The Hilton Apple Festival Auto Show is run in conjunction with the Hilton Apple Festival each year, with money raised being donated to help community programs. The Auto Show Committee will award at least one $250 scholarship to a 2008 Monroe County graduate continuing their education in a certified automotive program. For information or to request an application, write to: Hilton Apple Fest Auto Show, P.O. Box 55, Hilton, NY 14468.

This year's 27th annual Apple Festival Auto Show will be held on Saturday, September 29.
