Newsmakers for the week of
July 22, 2007


Heather Newton, of Spencerport, has been named to the dean's list for the spring quarter at Rochester Institute of Technology. A first-year student in RIT's College of Applied Science and Technology, Newton is studying environmental management and technology. She is the daughter of Diane and Bill Newton and is a 2006 graduate of Spencerport High School.


The following students have been named to the dean's list for the spring 2007 semester at the University of Vermont: Sarah Mangan of Brockport; Katie Riley and Jill Visca, both of Rochester.


Ashley Megan Bartel Wagner of Spencerport graduated with a bachelor of arts in communication during the Union College Commencement ceremonies on May 13 in Lincoln, Nebraska. Union College awarded 199 degrees to 185 students.


Sarah Elizabeth Harner of Spencerport graduated Sunday, May 27 from Vassar College, Poughkeepsie, New York. She is the daughter of Timothy Harner and Suzanne Daggs-Harner.


Sara A. Tully, of Rochester, is one of 29 students at St. Lawrence University, in Canton, New York, to be awarded an internship fellowship for the summer of 2007. Tully, a graduate of Spencerport High School, is a member of the Class of 2008 at St. Lawrence.

Tully, a psychology major, is participating in an internship with the Hopewell Development Office in Chagrin Falls, Ohio. She is a member of the psychology honorary society and Chi Omega sorority.
