Kendall appoints
new school leader

Julie E. Christensen has been appointed as the superintendent of the Kendall Central School District. Christensen most recently served as assistant superintendent for administration and personnel for the Gates Chili Central School District, a position she held since 2002.

Prior to Gates Chili, she worked for BOCES 1 as program coordinator of mental health services, was an administrative intern/building principal in the Brockport School District and worked in both the Brockport and Penfield School Districts as a school psychologist.

"I am thrilled to be joining the Kendall School District and community. I have met many wonderful people who wholeheartedly support the students and educational programs," she said. "I am looking forward to being a member of the community, as a mother and the superintendent."

Christensen replaced Dr. Michael O'Laughlin, who accepted the position of district superintendent for Monroe 2-Orleans BOCES in January.
