Spencerport Coach honored

Spencerport Varsity Wrestling Coach William Jacotout was selected as the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Region I "Coach of the Year" for the 2006-07 school year. The national board of directors of the NWCA recognized the efforts of Jacotout, who led the Rangers to an undefeated season, the Monroe County and Section V titles and the New York State Championship.

John Pelin, director of physical education, health and athletics said, "Bill Jacotout's leadership and coaching efforts are greatly appreciated and it's fantastic that his peers have recognized his commitment to excellence."

Jacotout completed his 26th year as the Rangers head coach, has a record of 317-28-1 at Spencerport and an overall career record of 351-34-2 (which includes three years at Pembroke High School). The Ranger Wrestling team recorded its 600th win this past season. In addition, Jacotout was honored as the Section V Class AA Coach of the Year and All Greater Rochester Coach of the Year this season.
