Park it in Parma August 3-4

Celebrate summer at the annual "Park it in Parma" Summer Celebration, August 3 and 4 at Parma Town Hall Park (off Route 259). Food, live music, entertainment and games for the entire family make this a good bet for casual summer fun.

The festivities begin Friday, at 6 p.m. with a kid-friendly 70 foot obstacle course, carnival-style games of chance, a classic Cruise-In Auto Show, and later the sounds of the local band "Hot House" on the portable stage. Complete the evening with the Robin Williams movie "RV" shown on the outdoor movie theatre, sponsored by Furnal's Hilton Big M.

Saturday's activities kick off at 4 p.m. with a country rodeo theme that may get everyone yelling a mighty "Yeehaw." Test how long you can hang on to the high kicking mechanical bull. Do you have the skills to become a lassoing pro at the fun rodeo roper game? Enjoy the games and satisfy your hunger with a chicken barbecue.

The theme of country continues through the night with local band "Blue Sky." The Grand Fireworks display at 9:30 p.m. completes the day.

Hilton-Parma Recreation staff have it planned to make the package complete. Camping is also available on Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings; make reservations by calling 392-9030. Fun and games are scheduled for Friday from 6 to 11 p.m. and again on Saturday from 4 to 11 p.m. Admission and parking are free. For information call Hilton-Parma Recreation at 392-9030.
