School districts urge newcomers
to register students for school

Parents and guardians are urged to register children for school.

Every September, on the first day of school, school districts throughout Monroe County are faced with many new students arriving at their school, expecting to be placed immediately into a classroom, without prior registration. Residents who are new to Monroe County, or residents who have recently moved into a new school district, often do not think of registering their children for school as soon as possible after their move.

Families who have just moved to Monroe County and who have school age children, or a child who should enter kindergarten this fall, are urged to enroll their children now.

Each school district follows its own registration procedure. Call the school district for information to be ready for school from day one.
