Truck stolen from Brockport was recovered

On August 7 during the early morning hours, a railroad maintenance truck was stolen from the Falls Road Railroad Maintenance-of-Way Department, adjacent the railroad tracks in Brockport. The truck is of the type that can be used on roadways, off-road, and on rails using a special hydraulic mechanism located at the front and back of the truck.

The truck is a GMC heavy-duty pick-up truck frame with a long front bumper and utility box arrangement in the rear. The rail mechanisms are located just in front of the front road wheels, and just behind the rear wheels.

A white male, described as being about 5 foot 10 inches, about 170 pounds, with brown hair, wearing a white tank-top shirt, was seen in the area of the truck at about 11 p.m. on the evening of August 6 (just hours before the theft of this truck was discovered by police).

The truck was discovered in the City of Rochester on August 8. The investigation is continuing.
