Sweden Community Foundation supports senior celebration

Sweden Community Foundation Directors Jack Milner and Thomas Ferris presented a check for $250 to Sweden Senior Association President Marlyn Lafferty on August 27 in support of the National Accreditation Celebration being held at the Senior Center September 14 and 15.

The gift represents the second donation the foundation has made to benefit the Sweden Senior Center in recent months. Earlier this summer, the foundation helped fund a landscaping project constructed by an Eagle Scout candidate at the Senior Center.

The Sweden Community Foundation is committed to expanding, promoting and funding recreational opportunities for local residents of all ages, abilities and interests. "We believe that opportunities to recreate in a variety of ways helps to increase quality of life," said Ferris. "This is especially true of our seniors who may need to discover new recreational activities as they become older."

Other members of the Sweden Community Foundation are Wayne Zyra, Dan Hogan, Kelly Lewis, Nat O. Lester, III, Greg Stahl, Richard Booth and Charlie Militello.
