Hands-on firefighter training class set

The Hamlin Fire Department is hosting East Coast training class for firefighters. This class will teach future instructors vehicle safety. Today's vehicles are constructed differently, they can be hybrids, and they could run on alternative fuels. This class will teach how to approach, extinguish, protect and help save lives.

The classes will be September 21 through 23 at the Hamlin Fire Department, 1503 Lake Road, Hamlin.

The department is seeking vehicles for use in the training, as it will be hands-on and will involve firefighters using the jaws of life cutting cars and possible live vehicle fires.
